What Is Theurgy?
Theurgy means “God-work.” In Agrippa’s system, it is the highest form of magic—meant not to command or manifest, but to commune, elevate, and unite with divine forces.
“No magic is more powerful than that which brings the soul into conformity with the divine mind.”
Theurgical work:
• Purifies and aligns the soul with divine intelligences
• Elevates consciousness beyond the planetary spheres
• Allows for direct contact with angels, archangels, or the divine itself
It is the ritual path of spiritual ascent, blending Christian mysticism, Neoplatonic hierarchy, and Kabbalistic emanation.

Prerequisites for Theurgic Work
Agrippa insists on three inner foundations:
Purity – Free yourself of vice, malice, or impure desire. Fasting, silence, and abstinence are often recommended.
Faith – Trust that God is the source of all power. Theurgy is not manipulation—it is attunement.
Knowledge – Understand the divine order, the angels, the planetary spheres, and sacred correspondences.
Only then can the rituals and divine names carry full power.

The ascent typically follows this order:
