Module II – Altar, Tools & Sacred Space
⸻
🕯️ Lesson Overview
Some tools are more than instruments — they are living extensions of the witch’s voice, movement, and will. Unlike the classical elemental tools, these spirit-linked implements serve unique magical roles across various traditions. They are used to open space, shape energy, call spirits, and bind or release power.
In this lesson, we explore four sacred tools deeply rooted in folk and ritual practice: the Broom, Mirror, Bell, and Cord. Each has its own nature, language, and spirit, and each is called upon when specific energetic tasks are needed.

🧹 The Broom (Besom) – Sweeper of Energetic Thresholds
Elemental Alignment: Air / Earth
Primary Function: Energetic cleansing, threshold crossing, spiritual movement
Symbolism: Liminality, purification, marriage of elements, flight
The broom is both mundane and magical. Witches traditionally use it not to physically clean, but to sweep away unwanted energies before or after a ritual. The broom sets boundaries, clears spiritual static, and may even be used to cast or close a circle.
